A couple of weekends ago, we headed up to the cabin for the night and decided to find snow while we were at it. We've only had one snow here at home and it only lasted for a couple of hours and wasn't enough for sledding. We figured the girls needed a 2013 experience, since we apparently aren't going to get it in our neck of the woods.
The Underwoods met us up there for the day, and everyone had a blast. Well, Austen had a few "moments." Every single time she got frustrated at something, she'd rip off her gloves and throw them on the ground. Sorry kid, but it was priceless and straight faces weren't possible.

Not a bad view for swinging, eh? |

We were playing at the school playground (you can do that during school hours when the population is 35 students) when the bookmobile showed up. K was busy swinging, but Austen had fun picking out a book from the "book truck." It's our home library system, so she got to bring it with her. |

Many memories of walking here to buy penny candy. |

Tough life, boys. |

And just some snippets of everyday life ~

We've had a few beautiful days mixed in among the wind, rain, hail, and snow. |

Love finding things like this lying around in a house of two girls. They love their princesses, but cars and dinos make their way in as well. |
Aside from being sure they are dressed for the weather, we have completely let go of trying to dress the girls. They pick their outfits, and I kinda like it. :) Every once in a while, for certain occasions, I'll tell them that "Mama gets to decide today," but most of the time it's a battle that I'm not willing to take part in anymore. And besides, they are expressing themselves, right?
Kaitlyn found a printer box downstairs, and they went to town building a car (in swimsuits, yes):
