I'm Obsessed :)

I promise that I did not have a baby just so that I could set her up for pictures. :) However, I will admit that I am having fun doing it...

Merry Grinchmas!

My Grandma Gertrude and Grandpa Bob introduced me to The Grinch when I was little, and it's been my favorite Christmas movie ever since. :)
I've been having fun with picnik.com. You can do fun things with your photos:

Here's the real picture - Kaitlyn enjoyed her photo shoot :)

7 Weeks :)

On Saturday, we headed to Puyallup to Jenni and Ben's for a CWU Christmas gathering. It was really good to see everyone; we always have a good time. We were laughing about how different our get-togethers are now. :) Many of us either have babies or are pregnant.

Here's Kaitlyn and Paige on Sunday morning (we spent the night). Yes, our daughter is more than 2 months younger than Paige, but is pretty much the same size. :)

The girls: Erin, Jamie, Jenn, Mollie, Gina, Carli, Kara, Lisa
The boys: Travis (Kara), Ben (Jenn), Justin (Erin), Matt (Jamie), Jayson (Mollie), Jeff (Lisa:)), Colin (Gina)

Kaitlyn and I played some dress-up yesterday. I swear it was her idea!

Kaitlyn and I went back to bed together on Saturday morning. I got up eventually, and she decided to sleep longer. I just love this picture :)

For some reason, I think it's really cute how engrossed she gets with her mobile jungle friends. She'll sit and watch them forever....

Jeff helped Kaitlyn hold her own bottle. :)
After bath time:

We are all doing well. Jeff just started school again yesterday after a 6 week break. :( We are both really glad that he decided to take the break, and are very excited for him to be done in the spring.
We got our Christmas tree on Sunday, so the next step is finding time to decorate it. I also want to be sure to decorate the house, which is harder this year. :) I can't believe that it's already December! I keep thinking that I'll be back to work before I know it...it's going so fast.
Happy December!

Pictures for Your Friday :)

Kaitlyn and I went over to my parents' house today for a visit.

Grandpa Dave is a pro at getting her to give in to sleep :)

Then he gives her to me so that I can relax!

Another picture with my favorite hat:

All bundled up for our walk yesterday

She's going to kill me for this picture someday. I got another hat from ETSY, and I have been attempting some cloth diapering (a few a day - hey, every little bit helps!) I have these cute, colored covers. The hat is lavendar and the cover is lavendar, so decided that it would make a cute picture. Hmmm...

Our Big Girl! (6 Weeks Old)

Kaitlyn will be 6 weeks old tomorrow, and we are assuming she is over 10 pounds by now. She now has a nice roll in her "little" thighs, and has pretty much outgrown her newborn clothes. :) It's so amazing how much she is already changing and "growing up." She is beginning to discover new sounds she can make, and has started smiling! It's still in the beginning stages, so I'm sure it will get even better, but it melts my heart all the same. :)

This is not a good picture, but had to share anyway:

My grandma Donnie's sister sent us this blanket with Kaitlyn's name and birth date embroidered on it. Very special. :)

Big girl lifting her head :)

I found this hat on ETSY - I love it!

We had a really nice Thanksgiving at Jeff's parents' house on Thursday. There's a picture of Aunt Stacey and Kaitlyn at the bottom. My cousins, Katryn and Anni, were in town, so my mom did a dinner on Friday evening. Anni's son, 'Io (ee-oh), is a year old. He's adorable! Apparently, he likes boxes. He got himself into the little box one of his toys came in and wanted his mom to pull him around in it. So cute.

Katyrn and Kaitlyn

Kaitlyn has been rolling over! Jeff saw her do it at about 4 weeks, but I didn't see it until Thanksgiving. It could be a fluke, but she did it four times in a row, so we are proud of her! :) Hopefully the video works - I caught it right before she went over.

Just a few pictures (and 5 weeks old!)

Lovin' her daddy :)

Ready for a ride in the car (we're working on liking the car...)

Playdate with Paige :)

We are looking foward to Kaitlyn's first Thanksgiving! My cousins are in town for the next week or so, so I'm looking forward to introducing them to her. :)

1 Month Old!

Okay, so I missed the boat on Kaitlyn's one month birthday. It was actually on the 22nd. Time flies!

Holy Weight Gain!

I took Kaitlyn back to the pediatrician today for her acne (it's getting better!), and we ended up just making that her 1 month check-up. She's doing great! She is up to 9 pounds, 12 ounces from 9 pounds, 1 ounce last Thursday. The girl likes to eat! :) Other than peeing all over the table, it was a very smooth appointment...

I wanted to try to show how much she's grown, but I don't think you can really see it in these pictures. This one is from about 1 week:

Here she is today:

We got a swing from Craigslist last week. We think it may be our new best friend...

I think Riley may be moving from completely jealous to protective of his little sister

She took a little nap in her crib today! (Ahh...how life's little excitements have changed...)

So, the night before last was another rough one. It seems that she was sleeping too much during the day, and wanting to play at night. She didn't sleep so much yesterday and last night was a LOT better. Today we are having a hard time keeping her awake, so we'll have to see what tonight brings...
Oh, and 106.9 is playing all Christmas music!! Sorry Thanksgiving, but this makes my year!

Monday, November 17, 2008

Kaitlyn will be 4 weeks old on Wednesday, and officially a month old on Friday. She was 9 pounds, 1 ounce at her last doctor's appointment, so she's definitely getting enough to eat! She developed a pretty bad case of "baby acne" last week, which I think has been harder on Mom and Dad than her. :) Apparently this is a worse case than normal, and the poor thing's face is pretty covered. We keep telling her that she'd rather have it now than when she's a teenager...

Here are some new pictures:

Jeff got to feed her a bottle for the first time. She took it like a champ!

Last night was a rough one for Kaitlyn and Mommy...hopefully tonight will be a bit better. :)

3 Weeks Old!

In some ways, it feels like it hasn't been 3 weeks already, and in other ways it feels like it's been a lifetime since being in the hospital (maybe from lack of sleep?). I have been surviving with Jeff back at work (key word being "surviving"). The past 4 days or so have been a bit more challenging, as Kaitlyn has apparently hit a growth spurt (well, we're hoping that this is the explanation...) and has been a bit more fussy. However, I think we were being spoiled before that, so it's really not bad. The hardest part is just that she wants to eat constantly! She is still sleeping pretty well - still giving us about a 4 or 5 hour stretch most nights from about 3:00 on. We are both amazed with how much she has already changed in a such a short time. We feel so blessed with such a beautiful (we can't be biased, can we?) daughter. We are still pinching ourselves!

She is so strong and very good at lifting her head to look around. Here's an action shot:

We have our month doctor appointment on the 25th. We are excited to learn how much she's grown!
I am supposed to be writing report cards right now, which is probably why I am updating this. :) I suppose I should get back "on task."

Still Truckin'...

We are tired, but have really enjoyed these first 11 days with Kaitlyn. There is something new every day! Jeff goes back to work on Monday, so we'll see how I do on my own...I'm so glad that I had him here with me to figure things out in the very beginning. I am not looking forward to losing one half of our team for most of the day, but I feel like I can do it at this point. Well, talk to me a few days and I may be feeling differently...:)

Kaitlyn is so content in her papasan chair - thanks BT and Lindsey! :)
Kaitlyn went to her first party last night for Halloween. Mollie and Jayson had us over - more pictures to come of the kids in their costumes. :)

One more picture from the first doctor visit. We went back on Friday morning and she's back at her birth weight!

One more close up sleeping picture:)
