6 Weeks Already?!
I seriously can't believe it's been six weeks since we were at the hospital. It's making me realize how soon I'll be back at work! I get a whole 5 months, but over a month has already gone by...I am really, really enjoying my time off with my daughters. I feel very lucky that I'm able to have this time.
Things are going really well. Austen has been spoiling us with her sleeping. As we know all too well though, just when you think you have them figured out, it changes. So, we enjoy each night that she gives us good sleep. And Kaitlyn is continuing to be an excellent sleeper, so we've got it pretty good around here for now. I better go knock on some wood!
So far, Austen is a content, happy girl overall. We don't really hear her cry unless she's hungry or tired. Again, going to knock on wood. :-)

Austen tends to go back to sleep until about 9 or 10 in the mornings, so Kaitlyn and I get some time for just the two of us, which is special for both of us. Here is our project from yesterday morning:

Stats
Both girls had appointments yesterday (Austen - one month, Kaitlyn - 18 mos.). Here are our new stats:
Austen - 11 pounds, 2 ounces!! This puts our "little" girl in the 95th percentile. Go Austen! I don't remember her length, but it was also in the 95th percentile. Who made this baby??
Kaitlyn - 22 pounds, 25th percentile. Proof that a chub can turn into a peanut. She's not teeny-tiny, but not the 85th percentile baby that she used to be. :-) She's still got her cute belly, which we love! She's actually starting to grow out of some of her clothes finally, which is making Mama sad...
And some pictures. This was fun to clean up. Thank goodness for my dad, who came up and helped clean for a couple of hours, which is how long it took to get most of the shampoo out of the carpet. I was having a hard time getting it clean with Kaitlyn wanting to help and Austen needing me, too. Thank you, Dad!!! Hair products are now on a higher shelf...
Michaela and her mom came by on Saturday to meet Austen. Michaela will be hanging out with us on Mondays during the summer. She'll be a great help! I can't believe that she's in third grade...I met her when she was 4 months old!

Never a Dull Moment!
We expected this to happen when we put the swing back out for Austen. Then we started thinking that maybe Kaitlyn just wouldn't go there since it had been out for an uneventful two weeks. Nope.
Our little monkey:
She got herself in, turned herself around, and closed the tray. I can tell that tomorrow will be a fun day...

Big Sister Antics
Kaitlyn has been giving me a run for my money this past week. On top of learning how to open Riley's food container and "feed" him, dumping his entire water bowl in the process, "drinking" from my water cup and dumping it's contents all over the bed, unfolding laundry faster than I can fold it, and trying to climb into Austen's swing, she has now taught herself how to get on top of the kitchen table. And yes, she has fallen, and it hasn't stopped her. We've tried moving the chairs, but she outsmarted that. Next step: chairs into the garage. So much for eating at the dinner table!
This first week on my own went very well, with minor hiccups such as the above. ;-) Glad it's the weekend, though!
Do you think she's proud of herself?
